STIGA padel rackets – characteristics, materials & technologies

Posted in

A padel racket may seem like a simple product, but behind each padel racket lies a long history of intensive work that includes research, development and meticulous testing in order to produce unique rackets that meet and even exceed all expectations. Just like with our table tennis products, STIGA offers handmade rackets of the highest quality and with different playing characteristics. Here, we briefly explain the symbols that feature on our padel rackets, thus making it easier to you to choose the right racket.

All STIGA padel rackets have a so-called hypersoft foam, which means a core with black EVA foam with a particular density that results in a larger sweet spot and more control. This provides the player with maximum feeling and a great response regardless of whether the style is offensive or defensive. The EVA foam is incredibly durable and allows your racket to retain a high level of performance for a long period of time.

These are the specific technologies for each padel racket:

AXE Padel Racket

Carbon Duplex means that we’ve used multiple layers of rigid carbon fibre and flexible fibreglass in this padel racket to make it an innovative hybrid. Together these layers form an ultimate sweet spot that provides extra effect at high speed without compromising on control.

An impact resistant frame which is a hybrid of carbon fibre and Kevlar that is able to withstand a lot of wear and tear, while providing the player with a unique feeling, higher speed and more stability.

The combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass provides a totally unique sweet spot that brings together the best of both worlds – stability and speed!

The racket’s ribbed and specially structured surface that provides a better grip on the ball, thus giving more spin and effect.

ACE Padel Racket

Our best-performing racket is made of the carbon fibre material Carbon Xtreme, a stabilised carbon fibre weave with multi-directional strength and a neat, visible grid pattern. ACE has two layers of 12,000 carbon fibres (12K), resulting in a surface layer of 24,000 carbon fibre strands (24K) per cm2. Carbon Xtreme results in a padel racket with a fast and responsive carbon fibre that provides a hard sweet spot with a lot of speed without loss of control. This high amount of carbon fibre is unique in the padel market and there are only a few other models with the same strand count.

OCS or Oxygen Capsule System refers to the small air bubbles inside the EVA foam which contribute to the optimal combination of speed and control during play. The combination of carbon fibre and microscopic bubbles means that the racket responds to the precise needs of the player: speed when the game requires speed, and control when the game requires control.

When a racket’s characteristics – speed, control and feeling – are all in place, we talk about the Diamond Touch. These characteristics, combined with the weight of the racket, offer a padel racket with a unique feeling, extra high speed and excellent stability.

Our most advanced sweet spot. Provides a racket with extra high speed and feeling as well as more power, even outside the centre.

The ARC, ART & ACE padel rackets have the Carbon Flexi Frame, which means that the entire frame is made of carbon fibre. This contributes to an extra impact-resistant and durable structure with excellent stability.

ART Padel Racket

ART has 3K carbon fibre strands, which means a surface layer of 3,000 strands cm2. It provides a fast racket with a well-balanced carbon fibre feeling that is suitable for most padel players.

A large and well-performing sweet spot with improved control.

ARC Padel Racket

We use the fibreglass Tech Fiber to optimise the ARC padel racket for beginners and intermediate level players. The racket consists of two layers of fibreglass for the sweet spot and a carbon fibre frame. It creates a racket with good speed and feeling, and contributes to what is known as the “control touch”, which means full control during play.

A generous, forgiving sweet spot that allows the player to take advantage of most of the racket surface. Thus, it offers a decent sweet spot so the player gets a good response even if the hit was not top notch.
